NW Illinois | Decent Push of ducks

Flyway Mississippi Flyway Flyway Location North Name Matt Ward Date 11/15/15 Specific Location NW Illinois Weather Condition Unseasonably warm highs in low sixties lows in lower thirties Summary There was a decent push of ducks that pushed into illinois on both sides of the big storm that moved through the Midwest earlier last week. The high winds and cool weather pushed most of the wood ducks out of my part of Illinois, sloughs that had dozens of woodies at the end of last week were empty this weekend. Gadwal seemed to be the ducks that made the push into the upper Midwest Thursday and Friday we shoot limits of gadwal, all decoyed real well and seemed to just show up from high above. Mallards still seem to be few and far between but there is a steady trickle. Next weeks forecast looks good there is suppose to be a lot of weather and drastically falling temps, maybe even some snow. We all keep telling ourselves it can olnly get better.
